todays EXTREME in EXTREME SUDOKU is interesting .......i missed the swordfish and it cost me ......lordy no dinner tonight.....grrrrrr oct 11th extreme. get your little numbers in an get the fish FIRST......need 60# test line on this bugger

the after thought is that i just take the gimmies and do it on my grid...if you do it on the webs grid its wasting your fun .....letting the solver take u thru the puzz you may as well be FISHING .....it takes a GOOD PERSON to finish one on paper i think

Beginner Sudoko Terms

Okay I am new to WebSudoku. I have used books before, and done those in the paper, but I love the forums and would like to read them for solving tips, but I just don't speak the lingo. For example - what is a y-wing and an x-wing? Could someone who is "in charge" pin up a dictionary of terms please?

I've only been playing with sudoku for a couple of weeks, I found this site a few days ago, and today visited the forum for the first time and saw Twiller's question about evil 8029813597 and thought I'd have a go at it and I solved it!!!

OK it took me 22:15 to solve and from what I can see the rest of you are lots and lots faster, but I'm really happy with myself for finishing my first evil and had to tell poeple who'd understand how rapt I am.

the hard work is done just follow the bouncing hmmmmmm losing it....i think.......regardless look at j 2 and 3 then at d 2 and 3 the famous BOX for dummies.....remove the 3 from j2 and the harder part starts....looking at it im willing to believe that i could find a few more ways to go but thats your job darn my J looks like a d (or sumpin) i didnt say i was smart.....(just a guy) 4 corners with one solved how simple can it be huh

How to ask for help on Evil 8,029,813,597

Hi,

I am new to the forums, but have been doing Sudoku's for a little while. However, I seem to be totally stuck on Evil 8,029,813,597. My first question is this: do you ever have to just take a guess on a two-option square and go with it and see if it works.

If not, I'd love to see you experts' suggestions on how to complete this one, but I'd like to let you know how far I got, and was just wondering how you go about loading the puzzle that I've got so far. I see some of other users have done it by using an attachment - but i couldn't seem to get the puzzle to paste anywhere. Is there any guidelines for publishing my progress on a puzzle when I ask for help?

sept30th extreme for dummies

you guys are having to much fun without me lol no pencil marks...name it elegantski
heres one i couldnt resist obvious123 (the box) do this one using d5 d8 f5 and the gimmie in f8 thats the box with one corner solved. ull have fun using pencil and paper buteverde but first look at b4 b5 h5 and the gimmie in h4......then look at d4 d6 j4 and j6......to explain ur simply looking at the locked pair in the 35s used with actually speaking in this case two gimmies. the 4 in f8 and the 5 in d8 as marked in the grid........when u finish the puzz if done on paper then look at the numbers in the next 2 examples i mentioned aboved ......this is an example of more ways for dummies like me to finish a puzz... u should see the 8 in b4 would be removed in the second example and in the third example the 2 would be removed from d4.....these are not guesses by any stretch of the imagination......BUTTTTTTT if used out of turn they may not work and yet the numbers when finished will....strange but another play might need to be found first... but do it as marked in the grid... easy extreme.......and i read the replys you guys made and a little tear.....thanks i should tell u the 5 must go in d8 and f5

sry all that didnt see the 2 7s in the same line......i started to post the completed puzz an saw the one i posted had the dup 7s in it...good thing i started from scratch but regardless im making to many mistakes transfering to the post so time to give that up......ill stick to just doing them....u guys take care and hope i didnt offend anyone......and to wj something i guess u really did guess at it sry

sry i did it again....wanted to edit and deleted instead
told u i was a dummie regardless the xwing was in the lines with the arrows and cleared a few things out...that was what i missed in the sept 23 puzz i posted ...shame on me huh left a lot on this one to complete but wanted to point out y i circle little numbers like the 46 in d5 and f5.... when all little numbers in it really helps to see these when using pen/paperthe dots over the 3s are how i find xwings when scaning little numbers....gee only 2 3s in line one lets see a xwing exist sorta thing.....the 23rd was redone in 20 minutes but i learned that a different way can be useful.....i had trouble getting grid posted because it was too big ...so i switched to a smaller grid and it worked.....gona be smart one day i think

   ok looks like it worked    this was how it looked after all the little numbers .....this was the box i use and i think it took to straight thru to the end
     the grid on the bottom is 1/2 the sheet of paper    i place a clean sheet over it and i can see thru to do the puzz   it saves buying ink and doesnt take much time to trace the box lines....polish u no
