Hi All
I am fairly new to Sudoku, but really enjoy attempting to solve them. Now, I am slowly working my way through the Times Sudoku puzzle books, and am now on their 'Super Fiendish' levels.
As I come across puzzles I can't solve, I use the web to learn about that specific strategy but have now come across one where I just can't understand how the 'solver' suggests I can remove a certain candidate - I just cannot figure this out and would appreciate any explanation that can be given.
Here's the puzzle, with the candidate removal suggestion and strategy:

Please can somone explain to me how on earth I can remove the candidate '7' from G6 based on this explanation..?
I can see that a: 7 in C6, causes a 7 in A8, and therefore no 7 in G8 - but how does that allow me to remove the 7 from G6?
Many thanks in advance folks...
John
